Oliver+S Popover Sundress

Sit down.

This is not for LA!

Here's some smelling salts to revive you :)

LOL! I know it is rare that I sew for anyone other than LA, but we have some little friends with birthdays this summer and who doesn't love a little sundress? This little dress is going to our sweet friend Sydney who just turned 3.

This Popover Sundress is a FREE (did you hear me) FREE pattern from Oliver+S! You can download the pattern from their blog (there is even a pattern for an 18" doll dress--that just happens to be the same size as the American Girl dolls--coincidence?)

The fabric should look familiar--its the same Alexander Henry fabric I recently used for LA's Hannah dress. I did buy the bias tape (I know, I know), but sometimes a girl goes for ready-made. I used a little of the bias tape as flat piping on the seamline of the bodice.

The dress sewed up very fast and I discovered a new foot in my drawer. I have had it all the time and I don't know why I haven't used it before.

It is a blindhem foot, but with its adjustable edge feature, it is perfect for top and edge stitching. It made sewing the straps sooooooo much easier. Hmmm...makes me wonder what I could use some of those other feet for!

Happy Birthday Syndey!!
